in the Periodicals Room
Newspaper and Magazine Reading Room
Bilkent
University Library is happy to announce the opening of its new Newspaper and
Magazine Reading Room, located on the Second Floor of A-Block in Main Campus
Library. Here, library users can consult daily newspapers and the latest issues
of selected popular magazines. Some soft drinks are available and can be consumed
in this new room.
The room is open between 9:00 – 17:00

To make our reserve services more accessible, Bilkent students can reach electronic reserve materials every day, at all hours. Due to copyright restrictions for electronic versions, users must be able to access the Bilkent campus network. In accordance with Turkish law, there are different types of copyright practices. You will find detailed information on reserve request form. For filling out the form, please take into account the related section for the material you wish put on reserve Materials already in electronic format can be forwarded to e-reserve@bilkent.edu.tr. In that case, the printed version of reserve request form should be signed and given to the Reserve Desk as soon as possible. The materials which require your approval to be added to the e-reserve collection, and are your intellectual property, will not be reachable to outside users, but only to legitimate users of the Bilkent campus network.
As of 18 October 2005 the entire Bilkent University community can renew materials borrowed from the library through the BLISS online program (http://bliss.bilkent.edu.tr/searchtr.phtml) by clicking on Borrower Services and then choosing "Borrowed Items". If the material has already been renewed twice, or if another library user has reserved the material, however, online renewal will not be possible and the material should be returned to the library.

TURNITIN
Turnitin is a database renowned for its plagiarism detection service. Teachers may submit essays to the Turnitin website which will be compared to both current and archived pages on the internet, millions of student papers previously submitted to Turnitin, and commercial electronic databases of journal articles, periodicals and e-books.
