Digital Library The fundamental components of the ACM Portal
are an enhanced version of the ACM Digital Library plus an extended
bibliographic database, consisting initially of more than a
quarter-million citations of core works in computing. These works are of

research. This new online archive lets you search the full text of all

ARTFL (Project for
American & French Research on the Treasury of the French
Language) The ARTFL project provides access to two
databases (for sites outside of North America). The first is a database of
French literature, FRANTEXT. The second is access to an online version of
the Encyclopédie Diderot, "a complete on-line version of the first edition
of Diderot and d'Alembert's Encyclopédie". Access is in French, via the Institut National de la Langue Française.

Slavery: A Composite Autobiography,
and A Comprehensive Name Index for the American
Slave "Between 1936 and 1938, the WPA Federal Writers'
Project hired field workers to collect the life histories of former
slaves. Transcripts for 2,000 interviews, from seventeen states, were then
compiled by the Library of Congress. In 1972, George Rawick assembled the
Library's collection—over 10,000 typescript pages—in The American
Slave: A Composite Autobiography. In 1997, the collection was indexed
by Howard Potts for A Comprehensive Name Index for The American
Slave. Now, the collection and the index are available together for

CELEX Celex
is a primary resource for European Community Law. The database lets you
search the full-text in 11 official languages of legal acts, regulations,
treaties, directives issued by the European Union institutions and bodies.
It also includes preparatory documents and the case law of the European
Court of Justice.
CEPR (Centre for
Economic Policy Research) CEPR Discussion Papers is
research made available quickly in order to generate
comment and suggestions for revision or improvement. Papers
may have been presented at conferences or workshops
already, but will not yet have been published in journals.

Datastream
(This database is only available from computers in the
Reference Office.) Contains an enormous amount of
international financial data from national governments, the OECD, the IMF,
Exchanges and many other sources. Datastream contains a series of
constantly and accurately updated databases, many covering as much as 20

Digital Academic
Repositories (DARE) The Dare programme is
a joint initiative by all the Dutch universities and the National Library
of the Netherlands, the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences
(KNAW) and the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research (NWO).
DARE includes 47,000 academic articles and other digital resources,

EJS E-Journals: EJS E-Journals from EBSCOhost
allows search and retrieval of citations, abstracts and full texts. Users
will have access to some titles from publishers who have given EBSCO
permission to re-use Table of Contents and abstract information in an
aggregated database. Most of these titles are scientific, technological or
medical in nature.
ERIC (Educational Resource Information
Center): ERIC is the primary repository for educational
literature. Covers a broad range of topics in that area and so could be
worth looking at even if you aren't necessarily looking for education as a
topic. Includes access to free electronic (PDF) texts and 708 full-text
ERIC journals.
Environment Complete:Environment
Complete offers deep coverage in applicable areas of agriculture,
ecosystem ecology, energy, renewable energy sources, natural resources,
marine & freshwater science, geography, pollution & waste
